Hi all.
I've found that my KSOs start chafing at around 4-5km every. single. time. It's due to the seam inside the pockets for the big toes, and it's as bad on both sides. I've got a longer index toe than big toe, so the fit for the big toe is a little loose, but nothing too bad.
In addition to the big toes, I get the odd hot spot on the outer ball of my big toe, but that never turns into a blister.
Is there any way I can fix this, or do I have to go through months of raw feet for them to get calloused enough?

Are you wearing the injinji liners? I used to get a blister on the top of my big toe. I bought a pair of injinji liners and it fixed the problem.

If it is at the 4-5km mark, it's not the shoe, it's the foot. Something in the shoe would cause discomfort immediately, I think it sounds like your foot needs to toughen up a little bit.

You might want to do both: buy some Injinji liners and do some foot strengthening exercises. I get hot spots in my KSOs. After getting one really nasty blister I decided to wear socks in my KSOs full time.

I don't think it's my foot, as it is a lot more comfortable for me to run barefoot, even over rough asphalt, even *with* the blisters.
Injinji socks are out of the question for the next couple of weeks, as they're not available in any of the cities I'm travelling through until I arrive in Hong Kong. But I will definitely pick them up then.

I've decided to go barefoot until I can pick up a pair of socks. So far so good, and my form is now mostly focused on reducing friction and impact.
iSmoothrun reported a cadence mostly in the 92-96 range

Body Glide is in the same category as Injinji socks -- I need to go to Hong Kong to find a place that will carry it. I know of one place.
