Woohoo! My first 20-mile run last weekend in my Bikila LS's!! Took me just under 5 hours to complete, though. I was tired at the end, but my feet still felt awesome!

This is my first year doing XC but I've done track for a few years. I've ran in two 5k races out of 4 this season and I beat my PR every time I run pretty much but yesterday (9/28/12), I beat my previous time by more than a minute. Since I haven't worn my VFFs enough, I didn't race in them but I did warm up in them and they did a great job stretching me out. The race was the Desert Twilight 5k and I ran it in 19:36. I am going to race in my VFFs during the next race.

Got a new PR today. It was a 5k race and I ran it in 19:12 beating my old one of 19:36. I didn't race in my VFFs but I did 80% of my practicing in them.

did my first full mary - philly - in my seeyas - my time wasnt what i was aiming for (5:17) but i finished and was pretty stoked about that
it hurt like hell - but i'm looking forward to my next one in may (jersey shore)
my half way time was ok in terms of the pace i wanted (2:19) but i struggled more and more each mile after
last 6.2 was pure torture (but the whole experience of making it through is something i will always value)
anyway - thought i'd share

i should note that i also have a 1:51 in a half a few years back in kso's
i was lighter then - in better running shape
now i mostly bike every day
and do some running
in prep for philly i did alot of long runs (2 20's)
but no speed or core work - i will be adding this in for my training for may
