What type of Five Fingers did you buy and when?

Bought my first pair of Classics from KayakShed in May 2008.

How was the buying process?

At the time, I talked to John over the phone to ask if I could order two sizes and ship back the size that didn't fit. So I got 43 and 44 Classics in grey/orange. Shipment was fast. Tried both out around the house and sent back the 44s (return shipping at my cost, of course). Got refunded on the return as expected. Seamless experience. Not sure if KayakShed still allows this now in 2010 (there may be a restocking fee on the returned item? Just FYI).

Would you buy from this retailer again?

The double-edged sword of KayakShed's ordering experience is that they let you "pre-order" expected inventory with estimated ship dates in the future. This can be great for those who just want to order some VFFs now and not scour the net to find their size/model in stock somewhere. But it can be negative in that sometimes the estimated ship dates don't pan out as expected. KayakShed does seem to have one of the best ongoing inventories of VFFs though.

Like cake, and always received mine ahead of the target date. Shipping was blazing--received my in-stock Mocs the next afternoon in the mail!

Any other feedback you would like to share. I would like Kayak Shed to improve their online store by including an account with history and order tracking. Otherwise it is very straight forward and, in my experience, reliable.

Purchased Classics for both my wife and I in late 2009 and another pair of Treksport and Classics for myself in early Jan 2011.

How was the buying process?
Seamless - quick communication and fast postage to Australia (for the 2009 pairs, unfortunately they no longer ship to Australia)

Would you buy from this retailer again?
Definitely, should they choose (...become allowed??) to ship to Australia again. In the meantime, I'll be getting them sent via a third party, which works well.

Overall: an easy to use store, great selection and quick delivery.

Couldn't be easier.
I ordered one pair online. Shipped right away.

A few days later I called and spoke with John and placed an additional order for a different color.
They were even able to ship them out that very same day!

They are soooo wonderful to work with, from ordering to returning. (which I had to do with one pair. Didn't fit right)

Very easy to get a hold of someone if you need to whether it's via phone or email. John was very friendly and accommodating. Elliot was great as well.

Such great personable customer service that you don't get too often these days.

I LOVE YOU Kayak Shed!!

How was the buying process? Very easy. I ordered on Sunday, they shipped on Monday, I had them Wednesday. Free shipping was nice, too.

Any other feedback you would like to share. My classics were never tried on. They were fresh in the box with tissue still wrapping them. This seems like a little thing but I have ordered a lot of FiveFingers online from authorized retailers and sometimes receive pairs that look like the "try on" models. I know this could be the last pair they may have had and I am not complaining...it's just nice to get a pair that no one has tried on before. :)

I personally believe that customer care is very important because it will guarantee customer loyalty to your business. I had a good and bad experience with Kayak Shed. I had ordered a pair of Komodosport LS, but they made a mistake and after an email to customer service I recieved an apologetic voicemail from the manager. And when I returned the call and another manager politely told me the problem with the order was my fault though she did sacastically apologize for their error to which iI had to hang up the phone. Their selection of Vibram Five Fingers is great and website layout and order process was very good.?but their customer service needs immediate improvement. I've read good reviews about Kayak Shed but I unfortunately did not share the same experience. I do not recommend Kayak Shed.
