lol yeah that's what I thought, hence why I'm still wearing mine.
When people ask about my Stems and I tell them that they just recently changed their name, and there are only 5K pairs with the Stem name, they always say "well why are you still wearing them?"
Just wondering if any of you who have the version with the Stem name is still wearing them, since supposedly they only made about 5,000 pairs with that name, before switching to *yuck* Leming. I bought my pair a month ago and have been wearing them pretty much every week day. They're my go-to shoe now for when I must wear shoes. But not having money to buy another pair, I'm still wearing these instead of "retiring" them. Just not sure if they will really become a collector's item like some things do.
I have done it whenever I can, but I'm pretty sure most places have a shoe wearing policy, plus during the winters here my feet would get numb very quickly.
In nearly a year of barefooting, only 4 or 5 places have asked me to put shoes on. I had the same concerns about winter, which is why I actually purchased my VFF's in October of last year (started barefooting May of last year), but then this winter turned out to be so mild I didn't really need to use them all that much.
Have you tried just going barefoot? I wear my VFF's if my feet are a bit tender from a previous BF run, but my feet feel nasty in them. I much prefer the "free" feeling of just straight BF.
Who knows, looks can be deceiving from the outside. The sole could curve upwards around the edges, making it appear thicker from the outside than it actually is inside where your heel sits.
But man, the graphics in that first video are FREAKISHLY awesome!
*edit* yeah still has the signature Nike pointed toebox. Blech no thanks. When will they EVER get that right?
Well I've actually worn them to work both yesterday and today, both days with no socks. I may be a sockless convert! But yesterday at lunch I did don the Injinji's and VFF's to run while it was sleeting and snowing. Just too darn cold to go barefoot or even sockless outside.
I bought Komodosport LS's as an all around shoes, both for all day wear with socks, and walking and running when it's too cold for barefoot. However now I have some Stems that will see more casual use, since I can wear regular socks with them. I'll leave my VFF's more for running and gym use.
