I'm doing some triathlon winter training, so I did an almost barefoot (Sockwa G3) 8km run, and a barefoot 1,6 km swim today.

 

Go barefoot, with a metronome, and always work on your form

Remember about TMTS 

About 7km run in Sockwa minimal shoes and 1.5 km barefoot on a snow trail (-5oC)

I've met Scott Jurek (he signed my copy of his book), and I had a chance to ask him as many questions as I liked ,about his running,diet, book etc.

This was an awesome evening, and it was in my own town in Poland ;-) (!)

I've recoreded a video during this meeting, but the damn thing simply disapeared from my sd card (), so I can't share it with you.



Oh, and I was wearing my brand new Sockwa G3, so I was "almost" barefoot :-)
 

Try it, and you will see (any major bone/foot/joint/mental pain=it is too soon for back-to-back running)

Add some 6k of walking or running to that trail, and you'll be an ultrarunner/skyrunner :-)

I almost got shot by a hunter yesterday. He shot to a huge deer that ran just in front of me   Nothing like a trail running

Nearly 7km of trail uphill and downhill running in the dark (hit a huge invisible root with my toe ).
Night trail barefoot running is something that I really like  

Yesterday, I've started running far too late after sunset, therefore I have ended my run in the dark forest. Fully barefoot, in forest, at night.

It was awesome!

I met  roe-deers, at least 10-15 times in a 9 km distance.

There was a moment, that I felt totaly like a primitive man. Running barefoot (only in shorts), feeling like being chased by wild animals or being the one that was chasing wild animals (deers).

Because it was dark, I had to use my other senses, other then eyes. It was a great lesson of proprioception and mind concentration.

I was also really fast.

Make it a barefoot run (from time to time, if you wish).

A nice trail + being barefoot + no music except for white noise (nature sounds) = good run and an endless addiction to running :-)

Have you tried to run without shoes (VFFs), just to see if the problem is shoe or form/gait related?

If not, it won't cost you much, to try :-D

Simply wait until your soles are OK, and follow your typical VFF running route...


 

It is interesting, that they don't want to make a leather PRIMAL ORIGINS Leming? I just love that shoe & it has a nice modern look.

They all look... well... very conservatively.
