Alex sent in the above photos showing off his grey Sprint Five Fingers that were taken in Japan, where Alex lives. Here’s what he had to say:
Went for a 20km trail run through some picturesque regions of Tokyo’s western suburbs in my FiveFinger sprints (and red toe socks)!! Nice and cool autumn weather right now too. The great thing about living in Japan is that after a long tiring run, one can soak themselves in Japan’s excellent hot springs – which is what we did at the end of our trek.
I only know one other (my mate) person in Tokyo with FiveFingers – so I would love to hear from anyone else out there who maybe keen to meet up and hit some trails together in VFFs. You can email me at tastrans
Cheers, Alex.
word passed on, Alex! Any others out there near Tokyo looking to run trails in their Five Fingers! Comment below or email Alex!
Thanks for sharing!

I’m in Japan, and I use VFF as my everyday sneaks and as my “school shoes” where I teach. The kids love ’em. Call ’em “frog shoes.”
I’m in Japan too, and I would love to find out where I can get a pair – the sizing difference is making me a bit iffy about ordering them online(my feet are 29cm, about 11 in inches).
Any suggestions?
Do you know where can I by Vibram gear in Tokyo?
Where can I buy VFF’ s in Fukuoka??
Hello!
Also looking for Vibram five fingers in Japan. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
They seem to sell the VFF classics at Oshman’s and L-Breath in Tokyo (Both stores have a Shinjuku branch).
Hi guys, I am a pose running coach and 4+ years exclusive FiveFingers wearer who also imports and distributes the Fives in Australia & NZ.
We have built the Fives and barefoot running in Oz over the past few years thtrough a grassroots network of runners, trainers, athletes and adventure racers who love and live the product.
This is where we think the heart of the FiveFingers lies.
I am coming to Japan on the 28th of May for a week of fact finding, meetings and of course running! We think it could be done a lot better over there, and may look to take the job on.
I intend to be at the Namban Running Club Sunday run on Sunday 30th May. I would love to a) hear from b) meet/chat to c) run with any of you who have time to spare.
Any advice re. who should be stocking the Fives & who should be wearing the Fives in Japan would be most welcome.
I will be bringing new styles (2011) and am happy to give you a sneaky preview. Also any requests from what we have available, I am happy to bring over for you. We also have a team running TNF 100k in 8 days (including me)should be wild. you can follow us on

Alex, you couldnt run 20kms! You couldnt even cover 20metres to stop a boundary!!
I have seen and heard lots about barefoot running lately and got interested. So I ‘googled’ where to buy vibram fivefingers in Japan and got this website. Thanks for it! My husband and I live in Okinawa and are visiting Tokyo in June. We will look for them at Oshman’s and L-Breath (the two stores mentioned – running stores? -alto’ the names don’t sound very Japanese) while there. Again, thanks.
hello all –
im currently in Tokyo and am really interested in purchasing a pair of VFFs. Are the above places in Shinjuku still a good place to buy or do you recommend somewhere else?
