Vibram FiveFingers wearers and gawkers alike all have come up with a slew of alternative names for “VFFs.” I chalk this up to the unique footwear niche of fivefingers — they aren’t quite shoes nor are they socks, and since they look like feet, well what on earth are they?
So here’s an attempt to have the “definitive guide” to alternative names for Vibram fivefingers. If I am missing anything on this list, do comment below as I will update this post. From the obvious to the silly, here goes nothing:

I like “Monkey Toes” personally
Ever since watching the Sesame Street clips that were posted here, I’ve been calling them “Monster Feet.”
Monsters don’t need shoes! We can do everything in our Monster Feet!
I call them ninja toe shoes – mix’n’match!
Make the abbreviation even more concise: V5s. Salute to the old ads: “I could’ve had a V8!” [forehead slap]
I think “V5s” (pronounced: Vee Fives) should be added to this list, I’ve seen it used several times now.
I like “happy feet”, personally.

Me and my girlfriend call them Floves, a shortened version of Foot Gloves.
