The new 2012 Vibram FiveFingers Speed colorways are out!

In what is certainly a sign of things to come with regards to the imminent release of the SeeYa and Spyridon LS FiveFingers (there’s still a chance to subscribe to win a pair! See the SeeYa review for details), I’ve just gotten word that TravelCountry has the new 2012 Speed colorways of Vibram FiveFingers available for sale! Check out these new colors for men and women (blue, brown, and yellow-orange are men’s; pink and purple Speeds are womens): I’ve been a pretty huge fan of the Speeds, generally: they’re an awesome casual toe shoe given their fashionable (yes, I said it!) retro styling. And I have to admit, these new colorways are very cool. If you’re interested in satisfying your FiveFingers itch for a shoe you can wear around town (but can switch to an activewear shoe in a pinch), the Speed is worth serious consideration. For roughly $100 you can get a pair of the Speeds shipped free to you from TravelCountry (they’re the first retailer I’ve seen have them in stock). They’ve got all colorways and sizes in stock (for now!). If you want to wait no longer and wish to buy the Speeds, you know what to do! Meanwhile, if you’re holding out for the SeeYas or Spyridon LS, stay tuned! I hope to have word on those puppies soon! If you need more intell on the Speed FiveFingers (like sizing, specifications, etc.), read on!

FiveFingers Official Specifications

Below is the official description of the FiveFingers Speed from Vibram’s website (Note: you can’t purchase these off of Vibram’s site at this time).
Built on the popular Bikila platform, the Speed model offers the look and feel of your favorite vintage running shoe with the comfort of our most popular running product. Designed for the casual wearer, the Speed will accommodate a wide range of foot widths and instep heights thanks to the traditional lacing system.
The MSRP is $100 on the Speed.

Sizing

If you need assistance on sizing, I suggest watching Vibram’s sizing instruction video and consulting the women’s or men’s sizing conversion charts to match up your foot length to your FiveFingers size. If you’re already familiar with FiveFingers sizing or have other pairs, the Speed typically sizes most similar to the Bikila, as it’s built on the same sole.
Though everyone’s feet are different, I’m a size 10.5 in normal shoes and a size 43 in all FiveFingers models. My feet are 10 7/8″ long (slight variation from left to right foot, but not enough to matter in my case). If you’ve figured out your size and are ready to take the plunge into retro-toe-shoe goodness, you can pick up the Men’s Speed FiveFingers at TravelCountry with free shipping for $99.95 here or the Women’s Speed FiveFingers at TravelCountry here. Note: you have to select your size/colorway in the dropdown menu to actually see how many they have in stock, etc.. If you have questions or comments about sizing Speeds or the model generally, comment below!

I sort of stumbled upon travel country’s website yesterday when I was trying to figure out when the new colorways would be released, little did I know they were the first ones to make them available! I snagged a pair of the gold(orange?)/green ones. Everybody’s been telling me their ugly, but I think they’re great! Can’t wait to get them!

Mens colors aren’t that bad, to bad my feet are to small to wear anything in mens sizes. Vibram needs to just make black/white or more neutral color for all there styles in mens and womens shoes already

Well they have two versions of white and blue speeds for women already so I’d say its actually a good thing there’re adding some warmer and “girly” colors.

I picked up a pair of the Orange/Green and Brown/Tan Speeds from the site. I want the orange/green because it is just so bold looking. The brown and tan will give me a whole new option for semi formal wear with Khaki slacks.

To let everyone know they also have the new KomodoSport LS, KomodoSport colorways and a few other styles have new colors as well.

The speeds in new colors seem like small quantities. Maybe 6 or 7 of each color and size. I would order fast if you want to make sure you get the pair you like!

Spencer, I agree with you. Vibram should make the more neutral colors in black/white or brown in smaller sizes. They would sell more shoes. I always thought there marketing seems to be poor. To me, they do not maximize sales to maximize profit.
