Fila Skele-Toes 2.0 Review

Fila Skele-Toes 2.0 Review

It looks like minimalist footwear and toe shoes are starting to become rather mainstream. The fact that major footwear brands are starting to develop minimalist and toe shoes of their own design is proof that the public is starting to accept this type of footwear. Fila even stepped in to the ring several months back with their Skele-Toes four toed shoes. Justin reviewed that shoe and you can find the original review here. Incidentally, Vibram has filed a lawsuit against Fila for patent infringement.

While the original Fila Skele-Toes were a reasonable first step in to the market it left some things to be desired. Now Fila has taken what they learned from the first release of the Skele-Toes and refined some of the aspects of the shoe for the Fila Skele-Toes 2.0 release. I received a pair of Skele-Toes 2.0 not too long ago and I have been testing them out since.

For the most part they have improved on the majority of the aspects of the original design. However, it is not all improvements across the board. To find out what I thought about the Fila Skeletoes 2.0 keep reading after the jump!

Luna Sandals LeadCat Review [Huaraches]

Luna Sandals LeadCat Review [Huaraches]

If you've read Born to Run (if not, please do so!), then you certainly remember one of the more colorful personalities in the book, Barefoot Ted. Barefoot Ted (BFT) has his own huarache sandal company called Luna Sandals drawing upon inspiration from the Tarahumara. In fact, the name "Luna" is in honor of Manuel Luna who made Ted his first pair of huaraches. I have been running in BFT's Original Lunas for a year now, and they have become my go-to huarache for longer runs. BFT has been tweaking his designs and releasing new models, and I was recently offered the opportunity to test his latest huaraches sandal design, the "LeadCat."

New FiveFingers Speed Colors for 2012

New FiveFingers Speed Colors for 2012

When the Vibram FiveFingers Speed style first came to market it was available in only three color variations black and white for the male sizes and bright blue and white for the female sizes. They also produced a primarily white with blue version for female sizes that was harder to find. This will all change next spring once Vibram releases several new color variations ("Colorways") for the Speed style.

I happened to get my hands on some of the new men's color combinations. Since I am photographer I had to bust out my lights and take some photos to share with everyone. If you are interested in seeing the new FiveFingers Speed colorways, continue reading after the jump!
